Pam Elifritz, a talented artist and writer, began creating Special Thoughts® on her kitchen table.
Over time the ideal design for Special Thoughts® evolved. Eventually, easel backs were attached, enabling them to be displayed on a desk or table. They are also magnets which allows them to be attached to most metal surfaces.
Initially Pam sold her Special Thoughts® out of a suitcase directly to retail shops around her home. Luckily, one of those shops was a Winslow's Hallmark Shop. Seeing how well they sold at Winslow's, Winslow's asked Pam to make enough Special Thoughts® for 15 of their Midwest shops. After Pam determined a way to increase her production of Special Thoughts® without losing their handmade appeal, Pam and Winslow's combined their efforts and now offer Special Thoughts® to you.
Working in miniature, Pam uses brushes the size of an eyelash to create her artwork and sentiments. Each of her original creations is reproduced in its original miniature size. Under Pam's guidance, each Special Thoughts® is hand assembled in Duluth, Minnesota. Talented craft people add special touches of dimensional paint or glitter to each piece. Pam, and now her helpers, put pride and loving care into each Special Thought®.
